Christman, Senta E. (June 22, 1906 - February 22, 1988)

Eighty-one year old Memorial Home resident, Senta E Christman died Monday afternoon, February 22, 1988.

The former Senta Schutte was born in Pine Valley on June 22, 1906, to John Sr. and Dorothea (Boll) Schutte and was educated at St. John’s Lutheran School. She worked in the Neillsville area until her marriage to Elmer Christman on February 11, 1925.

The couple lived in Neillsville until 1933 when they moved to Withee. After the death of her husband during November of 1967, she moved back to Neillsville, Wis. She had been a Memorial Home resident since 1984.

Surviving Senta is a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Dorothea) Durst of Fairchild; three brothers, Robert Schutte of Shawano, Henry and Alvin Schutte both of Neillsville; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at the St. John’s Evangelical Church in Neillsville, on Friday, February 26, with visitation on Thursday evening at the Gesche Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. and on Friday morning until 11 a.m. and on Friday one hour prior to the 2 p.m. services at the church. Rev. Richard F Weber will officiate. Sharon Nemitz will accompany vocalist Janice Mayer. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers shall be nephews of the deceased; Ray Christianson, Ed Jenson, Marvin Buettner, Donald, Frederick and Daryl Schutte.
