Christman, Elmer Louis (April 8, 1898 - November 19, 1967)
Elmer Louis Christman, age 69, of Owen, died Sunday November 19, 1967, in Neillsville, Wis.
Elmer was born April 8, 1898, in the Town of Lynn. He attended the Lynn school and later did farm work. He later moved to the Owen-Withee area, where he was employed by the Clark County Highway Department. He retired in 1963. He was married on February 11, 1925, to the former Senta Schutte in Neillsville, Wis.
Surviving is his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Dorothea) Meier of Neillsville; two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Nora) Embke of Neillsville and Mrs. Ernest (Belva) Wasson of Eagle; a brother, Claire Christman of Memorial Home in Neillsville; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, November 232, from the Georgas Funeral Home with the Rev. W. C. Koehler officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Two selections, "Heaven Is My Home" and "Asleep in Jesus" were sung by Ellis Wall, accompanied by Mrs. Dorothy Scott.
Pallbearers were: Don E, Charles C, and Raymond Christman, Frederick and Marvin Schutte and Ernest C Wasson, Jr.
People from out of town attending were; Mrs. Senta Schutte, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zielinski and Mrs. Harold Ludwig all of Owen; Mrs. John Iwaszczenko and daughter, Chicago, IL; Frank Lulloff, Cullen Ayers and Art Fravert of Loyal; William Oldham and Ed Bjorn, Strum; Mrs. Paul Francel and two children, Sturtevant; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wasson and Ernest Wasson, Jr. Eagle; Mr. and Mrs. Lars Larson and Mrs. Ed Jenson, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Schutte and family, Harvard, IL; Mrs. David St. John, Cadott; Mr. and Mrs. Don Schutte and Rory, Fall Creek; Mrs. Doris Christianson and Raymond Christianson, Baraboo; Mr. and Mrs. Art Christianson and three children, Racine; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Schutte, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. John Schutte, Mrs. Obert Furan, Jr., George E Beir and Frederick Schutte, Ft. Atkinson; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schutte, Neenah; and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Christman and Charles Christman, Elkhorn. The county highway employees also attended.
