Scharf, Emma (5 FEB 1886 - 9 AUG 1975)

GRANTON, Clark Co., Wis. - Services for Mrs. Emma Scharf, 89, Route 1, Granton, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant. Mrs. Scharf died at 3:50 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, where she had been admitted Aug. 7.

Officiating will be the Rev. Stephen Ellerbush, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church at Nasonville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, from 2-9 p.m. today and at the church after noon Tuesday.

The former Emma Ratsch was born Feb. 5, 1886, in Germany and came to the United States as a child. After her marriage to William Scharf on Sept. 1, 1903, at Zion American Lutheran Church, the couple lived on a farm in the Town of Fremont. Her husband died May 17, 1954.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Otto (Selma) Hansen, Milwaukee, and Mrs. LaRue Potts, Greenwood; a son, Harold, Granton, and four sisters, Mrs. August Ziegler, Neillsville, Mrs. Ida Ziegler, Willard, and Mrs. Anna Comlosom and Mrs. Louise Wiltgen, both of New York State.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

She was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church.
