Denny, Melissa (29 MAR 1864 - 17 FEB 1945)

ABBOTSFORD, Wis. - Burial services will be conducted in Abbotsford in the spring for Mrs. Melissa Denny, 80, a former Abbotsford resident, who died Fe. 17, 1945 at St. Michael’s Hospital, Stevens Point. Funeral services were conducted at Stevens Point Tuesday afternoon.

Mrs. Denny, nee Meeks, was born March 29, 1864 in Black River Falls, and two years later accompanied by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Meeks, came to a farm near Alma Center, where she married Joseph Denny in 1897.

The Denny’s lived in Butternut and later came to Abbotsford, where Mr. Denny died a short time later. Her daughter, Mrs. William Rogers, died May 7, 1931.

Surviving are a stepson, Ben Denny, Keewatin, Minn.; a brother, Earl Meeks, Ontonagon, Mich.; and three grandchildren.
