Mills, Nellie (28 SEP 1875 - 26 FEB 1971)
NEILLSVILLE, Clark Co., Wis. - Mrs. Nellie Mills, who had resided in Neillsville since 1950, died Monday night at memorial Home here. She was 95 years of age.
Services and burial will take place in Black River Falls. The Torgerson Funeral Home there is in charge of arrangements.
Before becoming a resident of Memorial Home several years ago, Mrs. Mills had made her home with her nephew and niece, Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Manz.
She was born in Jackson County, Wis., Sept. 28, 1875, and after completing her education she taught school.
She was married in 1904 at Birmingham, Ala., to Hugh Mills, a member of the U.S. Secret Service, who served as a special body guard to Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and Woodrow Wilson. The couple made their home in Omaha, Neb.
After the death of her husband in 1919, she returned to Wisconsin, residing in Alma Center, until coming to Neillsville in 1950.
