Bjorn, Ensio (29 MAY 1909 - 3 MAY 1978)
OWEN, Clark Co., Wis. - Ensio Bjorn, 68, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday at his home on Route 1, Owen, of an apparent heart attack.
The Rev. Lloyd Yaggie, pastor of Nazareth Lutheran Church, will conduct the 1:30 p.m. funeral Saturday at Maurina Funeral Home in Owen, Wis. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
Visitations will be after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bjorn was born May 29, 1909 in Finland. He came to the United States as an infant and attended Beehive School in the town of Green Grove. He married Silvia Winanaki Dec. 10, 1935 in Owen, Wis.
He operated a gravel business until 1948, when he began employment for Master Package Corporation in Owen, retiring in 1975. He also farmed in the town of Longwood where he was a resident for 33 years.
Surviving are one son, Rodney; five brothers, Edwin of Ironwood, Mich., Edward of Owen, Enio of Zion, Ill., Eugene, Rockford, Ill., and Elmer, Tucson, Ariz.; three sisters, Mrs. Martin (Elsie) Manisto, Margengo, Mrs. Donald (Elvira) Fredbeck of Waukegan, Ill.,, and Mrs. Joseph (Rachel) Wenta, St. Joseph, Ill. He was predeceased by his wife, Aug. 9, 1961.
