Erickson, Elmer (13 SEP 1893 - 4 MAY 1978)

NEILLSVILLE, Clark Co., Wis. - Elmer Erickson, 84, Route 1, Neillsville, died Thursday at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, the rev. Ronald Nordin, pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in town of Grant Cemetery.

Friends may call until 9 p.m. today and until services Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Erickson was born Sept. 13, 1893 in Bismarck, N.D., and received his education there. He moved to Menomonie as a young man and came to Neillsville in 1929. He operated farms in the towns of Grant and York for many years. After retiring he did carpentry work in the area.

His first marriage was to Olga Jackson and she died in 1922. On July 14, 1927 he married Frances Wilm and she survives.

Others surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Clara) Dahlke, West Bend, Mrs. Doris Eisentraut of Neillsville and Mrs. Jack (Mildred) True, Clintonville; four sons, George, Earl and Wallace, all of the Neillsville area, and James of Marshfield; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Warrels, Hudson, Mrs. Joseph (Thora) Bloomquist and Mrs. Arnold (Sara) Larson, both of Eau Claire, nd Mrs. Ellen McClellen, Menomonie; a brother, Thomas of Eau Claire; 27 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a stepson, a brother and two sisters.

The Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, served as the site for the funeral of Elmer Erickson, 84, who passed away on May 4. In the May 6 services, the Rev. Ronald Nordin of the Calvary Lutheran Church, Neillsville, officiated, with burial in the Town of Grant Cemetery. At the 2:00 p.m. service, musical selections were by Janice Mayer, who sang “What A Friend” and “The Lord’s My Shepherd.” accompanied by Elaine Smith. Pallbearers for the 2:00 p.m. service included Arnie Eisentraut, Ernest Erickson, Milton Erickson, Larry Erickson, Allen Dahlke and Rodney True.

Those attending from out of town included relatives and friends from Eau Claire, Menomonie, Tomah, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Racine, Rib lake, Marshfield, Loyal, Granton, Clintonville, Christie, Chili and Knapp.
