Gwiazda, Walter (27 SEP 1922 - 8 FEB 1985)

THORP, Clark Co., Wis. - Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Church, rural Thorp, for Walter Gwiazda, 63, of W13905 City Line Drive, Thorp. He died at 2:30 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where he was admitted Jan. 29.

Officiating will be the Very Rev. Michael Kudanozych and the Very Rev. Steven Repa. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. today at Thorp Funeral Home, Thorp, where there will be a parish vigil at 8 p.m. today and at 9:30 a.m. service Tuesday.

He was born Sept. 27, 1922 in the town of Roosevelt, Taylor Co., a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas (Mary Figura) Gwiazda. He married Waneta Meeker Aug. 27, 1949 in Medford. He farmed in the Thorp area all his life.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Gregory of Chippewa Falls and Duane of Thorp; two daughters, Mrs. James (Cheryle) Malecki of Stanley, and Mrs. Bernard (Irene) Przybylski of Chippewa Falls; two brothers, Michael of Thorp, and John Starr of Stockton, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. John (May) Przybylski, Mrs. Leo (Estelle) Wellner and Mrs. Alex (Katherine) Przybylski, all of Chippewa Falls; and eight grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.
