Having a centralized county library with satellite libraries in the outlying
areas, much like the NTC (NorthCentral Technical College) campus, was one idea
that surfaced at last week’s brainstorming session set up to explore ideas on
how best to get a new library for Medford. Having the library located on the NYC
campus in Medford was another.
A third was to finance the library with a half cent country sales tax.
The special library board meeting was held at the NTC campus here last Thursday
morning. The moderator was Bob Anderson, former manager of the Star News. He
organized the informal meeting in an attempt to see what support here is for a
new library, and to air ideas on where it should be located.
