Fuentes, Marlene (16 Feb. 1942 - November 2, 2005) *Birth date taken from the SSDI.
Marlene Fuentes, age 63, was taken from this life to her eternal reward on November 2, 2005, in Riverside, CA.
Marlene was born in the old Neillsville Hospital to Wilbert and Margaret Goebel. She graduated from Granton High School in 196l. She was a baptized and confirmed member of Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant. She was a resident of Granton and worked for the shoe factory in Marshfield until her move to California in 1965. Marlene and her husband operated their own janitorial business.
Those who knew Marlene will remember and miss her bright smile, her easy laughter, her sense of humor and her trusting and compassionate nature. Marlene had a tender heart and always wanted to help those less fortunate than herself. She took pride in being able to help out her neighbors and friends, and volunteered over the years to help feed the poor. Marlene fought the good fight, stayed the course, and kept the faith.
She leaves her husband, soul mate and dance partner of 30 years, Jerry Fuentes; and sisters, Marie Parkinson (Richard Sturm) of Cottonwood, AZ, and Karen Drescher (Steve) of Mosinee.
She was preceded in death by her parents Wilbert and Margaret Goebel, of Granton; her aunts and uncles, Joe and Lorraine Mesar, of Granton; Elsie Roach, of Chicago; and Bill and Gladys Mortag, of Milwaukee.
Condolences may be sent to Marie Parkinson, P.O. Box 4582, Cottonwood, AZ 86326
