Beilfuss, Leo J. (8 DEC 1936 - 10 JUN 2019)
Leo J. Beilfuss, 82, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019, at Aspirus Care &
Rehab, Medford, where he had resided since 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 14 at Holy Rosary
Catholic Church, Medford, with Fr. Phil Juza officiating. Interment of his
cremated remains will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery at a later
date.
Leo’s family members will be serving as pallbearers
Visitation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford from 9:30 AM until
the time of services at 11 AM on Friday, June 14.
Leo was born on December 8, 1936, at Medford, to Arthur August and Catherine
Cecilia (Hirsch) Beilfuss. He attended Little Black Elementary School, Town of
Little Black, and was a 1954 graduate of Medford High School.
On July 28, 1956, he was married to Sharon Ann Fahrenbach, at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Stetsonville. She survives.
Leo’s career began at Wojcik & Way Plumbing in Medford. He later became director
of building services at Memorial Hospital of Taylor County, Medford where he
worked for 15 years until his early retirement due to multiple sclerosis. He was
a city council member for 7 years and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church,
Medford where he served on the finance council. Leo was a kind and gentle man,
respected and loved by everyone who knew him. His positive attitude was an
inspiration to all.
He is survived by his spouse of 62 years, Sharon A. Beilfuss, Medford; children
Scott Beilfuss of Grand Junction, CO; Patrick (Tracy) Beilfuss of Menomonie, WI;
Douglas (Patty) Beilfuss of Madison, WI; Justin Beilfuss of Redwood Valley, CA;
and Ann (Tim) Schiefelbein of Minneapolis, MN; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great
grandchildren.
He is also survived by siblings Vernon (Diana) Beilfuss, Glenn, MI; and Rita
(Jim) Strosina of Wind Lake, WI.
Leo is predeceased by his parents, and siblings Cyril Beilfuss & Claire Myers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be given to
Hope Hospice of Medford.
