Colby Pioneer Dies Tuesday
Services Friday for Charles Schulte, 79
Colby - Charles L. Schulte, 79, town of Holton, died Tuesday morning in St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday in Christ Lutheran Church at Abbotsford with the Rev. P. H. Sprengler officiating. Burial will be made in Green Grove Cemetery.
The body is reposing at the Lulloff Fuenral Home in Colby.
Mr. Schulte was born July 8, 1879 in Colby and received his education in schools of this area. He married the former Alvina Awe on Sept. 25, 1907, in the town of Green Grove.
After their marriage they purchased the farm operated by the bridegroom's father in Colby and resided there until 1940. After selling the farm they moved to a farm east of Abbotsford where they resided several years. Later they bought land in the town of Holton, where they have since resided.
While in the Colby area they were members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Besides his widow he leaves one son, Rueben Schulte, town of Holton; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Lorinda) Fink, Colby; Mrs. Norman (Leona) Behringer, Owen; six grandchildren; vive great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Buchholz, Curtiss; Mrs. Frieda Awe, Owen, and Mrs. Delia Zumach, Racine.
One son died in infancy.
