On Monday morning, at the home of his son-in-law, Jason Phillips, of Snow, John Tearle an old veteran of two wars, breathed his last and passed to the world beyond. He was between 89 and 91 years of age at the time of his death and has resided with his son-in-law at Snow for a number of years past. He served his country in two wars--the war with Mexico and the war of the Rebellion. The funeral took place on yesterday, The G.A.R. Post and W.R.C. of this city attending in a body. Rev. W.J. Speers preached the funeral sermon at the house and the G.A.R. performed their ritual ceremonies at the grave. May he rest in peace.
