Abrahamson, Alvin "Abe" F. (May 30, 1931 - June 7, 2003)

Alvin "Abe" Abrahamson, age 72, of Mauston, passed away peacefully June 7, 2003, at his home.

He was born on May 30, 1931, in Fairchild, the son of the late Roy and Dora (Matysik) Abrahamson. He was united in marriage to Marlys Brynterson on November 4, 1950 in Fairchild.

Alvin and Marlys moved to Elroy in 1954 where Abe eventually became Highway Commissioner of Juneau County. He retired from this position in 1986. He was elected and served as Juneau County Surveyor and Union President for many years. Alvin and his family moved to Mauston in 1978.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Marlys; children, Alan Sr. (Margaret) of Mauston; Kenneth (Helen) of Kewaunee; Wayne (Vivian) of San Diego, CA; and Marla (Robert) Cummings of Stevens Point; brothers, Leonard of Blair, Charles (Sandy) of Fairchild, Lyle (Arlene) of Fairchild, Bernard of River Falls; sisters, Carol (Lamoine) Anason of Neillsville and Susan (Kenny) Janke of Union Grove; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and 23 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Edwin and Gerald; and nephews Ricky and David.

Funeral services were held June 16 in Fairchild at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with Rev. Dan Dibbert officiating. Burial was at the Fairchild Cemetery. Pallbearers wee grandsons, Alan Jr., Jeremy and Bradley, and brothers, Charles, Lyle, and Bernard.
