Matthew Christopher, who was born March 3, 1975 to Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Schmidt of Spencer, was baptized Sunday morning, March 23, in Christ the King Catholic Church by the Rev. A.H. Bofenkamp. Sponsors were Miss Carol Frank, Marshfield, and Eugene Schmidt of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.).

Present for the special occasion were Matthew's two great-grandmothers, Mrs. Helen Zophia, Marshfield, and Mrs. Mary Gaden, Neillsville; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Klein, Spencer, and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Schmidt Loyal; Mrs. Eugene Schmidt and Mary, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Frank, Linda, James and Jeffery; Mr. Lavern Zophis, all of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Oldham, Spencer; and Mr. Ernest Gaden, Neillsville.
