Marine PFC Kenneth A. Kernz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Kernz of Route 1, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), has left Okinawa for a six-month deployment in the Western Pacific aboard ships of the U.S. Seventh Fleet.

He will participate in training exercises with the 3rd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment at Camp Fuji, Japan, and other expeditionary camps in the Far East.
