Pinter, Lawrence E. (10 MAY 1932 – 18 JUL 2019)

Abbotsford - Lawrence E. Pinter, age 87, of Abbotsford, died on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Dycora Transitional Health in Abbotsford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am., Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Abbotsford. Father Tim Oudenhoven will officiate. Interment with Military Honors by Colby VFW Post #2227 will follow at Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome at the church from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Tuesday, July 23 with a rosary at 6:45 pm and also Wednesday, 10:00 am until time of service. Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with arrangements.

Lawrence was born on May 10, 1932, the son of John and Olivia (Decker) Pinter, in Abbotsford. He graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1950. Lawrence served in the U.S. Army in 1952 - 1954 and was stationed at Fort Bliss, TX. Lawrence married Barbara Kohn on April 16, 1955 in Medford, WI. She was the love of his life, and he cherished everyday spent with her.

Lawrence and Barbara farmed in Neillsville and later moved to a farm in the Town of Holton. There they farmed for 30 years. After farming, Lawrence drove semi-truck for 15 years before retiring. "You can take the men off the farm but you can't take the farm out of the men." Even after selling the farm, he enjoyed helping his sons with field work.

Lawrence had a heart of gold, always joking and had a big laugh. He loved his family and smiled whenever his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were around him. Grandpa will be missed.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 64 wonderful years, Barbara; six children: Cindy (Mark) Mabry, Jeff (Jill) Pinter, Greg (Barb) Pinter, Rodney Pinter, Brad (Susan Abel) Pinter, and Jody (Greg) Bleck; 12 grandchildren: Justin, Joni, Jade, Claire, Catherine, Anthony, Nicole, Cory, Kelsey, Hailey, Ben, and Olivia and 8 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Mary Ann Schwalbach along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Isabelle; and a brother, Gerald Pinter.
