Neillsville Elementary Principal (Resigns – 31 July 2019)
By Valorie Brecht
The Neillsville School Board is looking for a new elementary school principal
after Scot Schiller announced his recognition in a letter released last week.
Schiller was elementary principal for the past two years.
“Throughout this time, I have gained a broader perspective of public education,
developed my skills as a building leader and created many lifelong
relationships,” he wrote in his resignation letter.
Schiller plans to resign as of July 31.
“This is a difficult decision for me as I consider Neillsville Elementary part
of my family,” he wrote.
“I have nothing but good things to say about many of the people at Neillsville
and the quality of work that they do. I truly believe that as I leave now,
Neillsville Elementary is in a better place than it as two years ago. I was
fortunate to work [with] some truly tremendous individuals at Neillsville.”
The board accepted Schiller’s resignation at its meeting Monday.
Now the board will be looking into different options to fill the opening.
“We basically have three options – looking within our current staff, hiring
someone on an interim basis or seeking other candidates to fill the position,”
said District administrator John Gaier.
No definite plans were made by the board prior to deadline.
