Mummert, Charles R. (13 JUL 1930 - 24 APR 2006)

Charles R. Mummert, 75, Nekoosa, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at House of the Dove, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, April 26, at United Methodist Church, Spencer. The Rev. Mara Theno officiated, Pittsville American Legion Post 0153 provided military honors.

Charles Richard Mummert was born July 13, 1930, in Illinois, to Charles and Minnie (nee Seeloft) Mummert. He served his country in the Marines during the Korean Conflict. He married Mae Peterson on July 24, 1954. She died Aug. 7, 1988. He farmed in the Granton area and then worked pipeline and other construction jobs. He retired in 1999. He was a life member of Pittsville American Legion Post 0153. He enjoyed antique tractor shows, threshing shows, and working in his yard.

Survivors include his daughters, Carla Butcher, Wilmington, Ill., Linda (Darrel) Roder, Marshfield, Lois (Dewane) Felch, Nekoosa, and Janis Zins, Lake Mills; three sisters, Minnie Toups, Raceland, La., Laura (Donald) Lienemann, Commerce, Colo., and Eleanor Zenka, Harvard, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
