Wolfe, Eva D. (10 MAR 1906 - 25 APR 2006)

Eva Wolfe, 100, Marshfield, formerly of Spencer, died on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Wells Nature View CBRF, Marshfield, where she resided the last four years. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 29, at 1 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. The Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiated. Pallbearers were her grandchildren. Burial was in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery.

Eva Dorothy Gretzner was born on March 10, 1906, in the town of Beaver, to Adolph and Alvena (nee Luther) Gretzner. She attended Irvine School in the town of Beaver, Loyal High School, graduating in 1924, the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire and Stevens Point. She taught school in Clark County for several years. She married Arthur Wolfe on June 11, 1930, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. She raised three children and then returned to teaching in the Marshfield School District and stayed there until she retired. Her hobbies were farming, fishing, bowling at Loyal and Spencer, quilting, knitting, crocheting, tatting, gardening and playing cards. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its TLCW. She was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the local senior citizens groups.

She will sadly be missed by her children, Darlene (Bob) Langfeldt, Loyal, Dale (Jackie) Wolfe, Marshfield, and Marilyn Ruona, De Forest; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband in 1970; two sisters, Gladys Schultz and Violet Haselow; and one great-grandchild, Dan Wirtz in 2003.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
