Bailey, Ella (4 Jan. 1859 - 17 March 1937)

Miss Kittie Kountz received a letter Monday from Portland, Oregon stating that her aunt Mrs. Ella Bailey died at a hospital in Portland, March 17, at the age of 78.

Mrs. Bailey, whose maiden name was Ella Bacon, was born in Neillsville, January 4, 1859. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Olson Bacon were early settlers here; their farm occupying quite a large part of what is now the third and fourth wards in the southwest part of the city of Neillsville, Wis.

She was married to Dorrence Bailey of Greenwood and they made their home in that city until Mr. Bailey’s death, when she moved back to Neillsville, Wis.

About 30 years ago she went to Chicago, and after a few years residence there she went to Portland, which was her home since that time.

She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Eva B. Marsh, and one sister, Mrs. L. M. Sturdevant.
