Rueden, David J. (1 JAN 1940 - 22 JUL 2019)

David J. Rueden, age 79, of Abbotsford, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 22, 2019 at his home under the tender care of hospice.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Abbotsford. Father Tim Oudenhoven will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Visitation will occur at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, until time of service.

Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with arrangements.

David was born on January 1, 1940, the son of Arthur and Bertha (O’Brien) Rueden, in Colby. He graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1958. On March 25, 1972, David was united in marriage to Peggy A. Phillips in Phillips, WI. Dave was a heavy equipment operator and a proud member of the Operator Engineers Local #139. He enjoyed auctions, the Edgar Steam Show, Iola Car Show, camping, fishing, playing cards especially cribbage and sheepshead and he loved his dogs and grand-dogs. Most importantly, Dave cherished his family.

Dave is survived his wife, Peggy of Abbotsford; five children; Brenda (Rodney) Westberg of Mosinee, Corinne (Perry) Clausnitzer of Medford, Kecia (Bernie) Krueger of Stratford, Robert (Terry) Rueden of Abbotsford and Jodi (Scott) Roesler of La Crosse, six grandchildren; Tiffany (Dustin) Martell, Jordan Rueden, Alexyn Krueger, Sterling Rueden, and Martin and Madelyn Roesler, two great-grandchildren; Ethan and Cole Martell. He is further survived by his sister; Lou Ann (Larry) Weix, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother; Jerome Rueden.
