Miss Kathy Studinski of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), daughter of Mrs. Florence
Studinski, presented slides of Mexico for the Loyal Center I and II Homemakers
groups and their guests, Thursday evening in the Loyal School Cafeteria.
Miss Studinski had spent from June 13 to August 26 in Mexico this past summer.
Among her interesting displays were an onyx chess board and chess men, and
carved bookends of white onyx. She is a collector of rocks, and this was
reflected in her choice of souvenirs, and pictures of pyramids and rock
carvings. Most of her souvenirs were bought at the open market where prices are
much cheaper.
Another of her souvenirs was an Aztec Calendar Stone. She explained that twenty
days is equal to our month, and fifty years are equal to our century.
