Richard C. Larson, assistant professor of education and resident coordinator of
educational field experiences at Wester Illinois University since 1964, was
awarded a Dr. of Education degree at the University of Norther Colorado summer
commencement.
Dr. Larson is a native of Silvis, Illinois, son of Mr. R.E. Larson of Loyal
(Clark Co., Wis.), and the late Richard E. Larson. He was graduated from
Greenwood High School, holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin, and an
M.A. from Michigan State University.
After teaching at Dexter, Michigan, Unit District School, 1951-59, Dr. Larson
was a teacher and supervisor of student teachers for Michigan State University
at Olivet, Michigan Community High School, 1955-59, and instructor in the
agriculture department and manager of the agronomy station at Western Illinois
University, 1959-64.
Dr. Larson and his wife, the former Nancy Thurber, have two daughters, and two
sons,a nd make their home in Peoria.
