Ertl, Peter (13 MAY 1896 – 18 SEP 1975)
Peter Ertl, 79, route 1, Unity died at St. Joseph's Hospital September 18, 1975.
Funeral services were held at St. John's Lutheran Church, North Spencer, on
Sunday, September 21 at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. david J. Ault officiating. Burial
was made in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery. Rux Funeral Home was in charge
of arrangements.
Mr. Ertl was born May 13, 1896 at Marshfield. He was married to Rose Schroeder
on October 4, 1919 at St. John's Lutheran Church. They farmed in the Town of
Hull (Marathon Co.) for five years, then moved to route 1, Unity, and continued
living there after retiring. He was a member of the Maple Wood School Board for
a number of years, and also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. His wife
preceded him in death on April 4, 1973.
Surviving are one son, Dale Ertl, route 1, Unity, five brothers, George,
Marshfield; Louis, Butler; Michael, Mesa, Arizona; Anthony, Marshfield, John,
Auburndale; and three sisters, Mrs. John (Anna) Raab, Nekoosa; Mrs. Ed (Mary)
Schneider, Marshfield; and Mrs. Ward (Barbara) Meredith, Marshfield.
Organ music was provided by Mrs. William Martens, and the pallbearers were
Kenneth, Ronald, Roy and Paul Ertl, Norbert Schneider, and John Raab.
