Rochester, Mae June (22 October 1925 – 8 May 2019)
Mae (Jorgensen) Rochester, 93 passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at
Black River Memorial Hospital, Black River Falls.
Mae was born in Tomah WI to Victor and June (Murphy) Jorgensen on October 22,
1925. She grew up and lived most of her life in Tomah WI, before moving to Black
River Falls in 1969 to be closer to her kids.
Mae stayed home and raised the kids and once the kids were older, she went to
work at the VA Center in Tomah in the housekeeping department. Mae lived most of
her life on her own, moving into the Pine View Care Center just 4 short years
ago.
She will be missed greatly by her children Kathy (Ronnie) Meyer of Black River
Falls, Kristeen (Dave) Dennis of Big Lake, MN, Shirlie (John) Nimmo of Black
River Falls, Gene (Pat) Rochester of La Crosse, Daniel (Bettie) Rochester of
Stevensville, AR, and James (Lisa) Rochester of Tomah; 32 grandkids, 38
great-grandkids and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Arthur "Rocky" Rochester, a son,
Bruce Arthur Rochester, and one grandson, Chad Rochester; 1 sister, Mary and 3
brothers, Charles, Jack and Elmer.
A graveside service will take place Sunday, May 12, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the
Neillsville City Cemetery with a small luncheon to follow at Strike Time Lanes,
Neillsville.
The family wishes to thank Black River Memorial Hospital for the great care
given to Mae in her last days along with the staff at Pine View Care Center for
taking good care of Mae these last few years.
