Brost, Mark D. (9 FEB 1962 - 29 APR 2019)

Mark D. Brost, 57, of Mokry Road, Medford, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, MN.

The funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 4 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, with Father Phil Juza officiating. Visitation will be at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford from 4-7 PM on Friday, May 3; also at church from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Saturday, May 4.

Pallbearers are Trenton Grunewald, Larry Frelichowski, Brian Moberg Jr., Austin Salzgeber, Jordan Brost, Mike & Justin Grunewald.

Mark was born on February 9, 1962, at Medford, to Donald J. and Darlene (Denzine) Brost. He attended Holy Rosary Catholic School, Medford and was a 1980 graduate of Medford Sr. High School and attended Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, AZ.

In 1998, Mark was married to Patricia Netzer, they were later divorced. In 1982, he married Kim Thieme, they were later divorced. On January 28, 2016, he married Patty Parrish and they have been together for the past 9 years.

After his education, he worked on the family farm raising veal calves until 2001. Then he worked in the bakery at Kraft/Nestle Pizza Corp. until ill health forced his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family, motorcycle riding, playing cards, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing & doing field work for his best buddy, Luke Lamberty. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford.

Mark is survived by his mother, Darlene (Denzine) Brost, of Medford; spouse, The love of his life, Patty Brost of Medford; children Ashley (Pedro Montes) Brost of Owen; Courtney (James) Cook of Rib Lake; and LaTeasha Brost of Medford; Step-Children: Heather (Larry) Frelichowski of Medford; Lisa (Jon Martin) Zink; of Iron River, MI; Jessica (Jason) Kopp of Minocqua; Jennifer (Vincent) Pipkorn of Argonn, WI; and Brian Moberg Jr. of Medford; and grandchildren Emma & Faith Nowak, Ethan & Lucas Cook; Step – grandchildren: Dominic Frelichowski, Braxton Pipkorn & Evelyn Martin.

He is also survived by siblings Randy (Anne) Brost of Medford; Sharon (Jim) Grunewald of Medford; and Michele (Bruce) Krug of Medford; and by his special best friend – Luke Lamberty of Medford, many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Mark is predeceased by his father, Donald J. Brost.
