Engel, Wayne W. (30 NOV 1934 - 12 MAY 2019)
Wayne W. Engel, 84, of Medford, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Thedacare
Regional Hospital in Appleton.
Wayne was born in Cochrane, WI to Wallace and Luella (Heuer) Engel on November
30, 1934. He attended Medford High School. Following graduating, Wayne enlisted
in the Army National Guard. After his service, Wayne obtained his teacher’s
license and taught grade school for nine years. On December 30, 1955 Wayne
married Carol, she survives.
Wayne owned and operated Medford Millwork before retiring at 65. He was a member
of Medford Curling Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, Carol, Wayne is survived by his children, Jayne Engel,
Mark (Milissa) Engel, and Jill Storch; grandchildren, Robert Stieber, Sara
(Craig) Stieber-Amundson, Mike, Carolyn, and Julia Storch, and Jason and Larissa
Engel.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Russell, Don, and Monion.
A Funeral Service for Wayne will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 18, 2019
at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, with Pastor Richard Russow officiating. Burial will
follow at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Visitation will take place at Zion Ev.
Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 10:00 AM until the time of
service at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Wayne’s name may be given to the
church.
