FRIEMOTH family reunion held
The Margaret and Friemoth family reunion was held at the Milton Friemoth farm on Saturday, August 20, 2005. Milton’s brothers and sisters that made it to the reunion were: Jim, Phillis, Larry, Allen, Joan and Richard. All of Milton and Yvonne’s fifteen kids made it with most of their families, plus some of his nieces, nephews, and their families. Three of Milton’s great-grandchildren, Erik, K’Lynn and Elizabeth made it also. His grandson, Ben who is on leave from the service made it back from overseas for a few weeks. One nephew, Randy and his family came from Florida. The rest that made it were from Wisconsin or Illinois and there was a passel of them at that. Over 125, so not wanting to offend anyone by missing a name we’ll skip on that list.
Pretty much any Friemoth you meet in Clark County is a direct descendant of Milton and Yvonne. Milton came from East Troy, WI. Most of his brothers and sisters still live near there. His parents, Margaret and Frank, had sixteen kids although one of the oldest died at the age of two. They had close to 70 grandkids and over 100 great-grandchildren. All of the family reunions have been held by East Troy till this year, so most of the games during the reunions become a North/South rivalry. We’re proud to say the ‘North’ are the usual victors.
Brian won the Sheepshead card tournament. And several turned out for the golf outing on Sunday morning, where Kenny won two of the events, with Brian, Jack, Don, Nicki, each winning one. There was volleyball, kickball and lots of games for the little ones. And when it comes to food, you can’t beat a large family reunion for the abundance of variety and flavor. There was enough to feed everyone who stayed through Sunday’s meals. Excellent cooking by everyone, which was shown by the abundant participation, brought in their auction to raise money for the reunion. The baking, canning, and wines bring out the best bidding in everyone. It was a good time had by all.
