Brown, Helen Margaret (June 10, 1922 - January 26, 2006)

Helen Margaret Brown, age 83, a lifelong Brooklyn resident, died Thursday, January 26, 2006, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison. She was born June 10, 1922 in Brooklyn Township, the daughter of Delbert and Edith (Lewis) Staley. She married Norman Brown on May 4, 1940, in Dubuque, IA and he preceded her in death on January 11, 1994. They were dairy farmers in Brooklyn and were blessed with 9 children.

Helen is survived by four sons: Wallace (Ruth) Brown of Prairie du Chien; Michael (Susan) Brown of Evansville; Jerry (Laura) Brown of Oconto Falls; Brian (MaryLou) Brown of DeForest; four daughters: Norma (Eaba) Botma of Whitewater; Karen (Jackie) Sachs of Thorp; Jeanne Brown of Brooklyn; Jacqueline Brown of Milton; a brother Charles (Martha) Staley of Beloit; two sisters: Marjorie Clark of Fruitland, IA and Ruth Elsner of Madison; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and an infant daughter Pamela.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home, Evansville with Reverend Jo Bierer officiating. Interment was at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Brooklyn. Casket Bearers were Bruce Oleson, Jasen, Andrew, Chad and Matthew Brown and Jason Jameson. Visitation was on Tuesday at the funeral home from 12:00 until the time of the service.
