Meinders, Katherine I. (5 NOV 1920 – 28 MAY 2006)
Katherine Meinders, 85, Spencer, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, at her home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. Burial was at Trinity Cemetery, town of Brighton, Marathon County. The Rev. Robert Olson officiated. Pallbearers were David, Dwain, Mark, Arlyn, and Chad Meinders, and Kevin Pankratz.
Katherine Irene Meinders was born Nov. 5, 1920, to Robert and Minnie Kruse in Titonka, Iowa. She married Dick Meinders on March 18, 1943, at Ramsey Reform Church, Titonka, Iowa. They moved to Spencer in 1957, where they farmed until 1985, when they retired and moved to the village of Spencer. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, American Legion Post Auxiliary, and the senior citizens. She was a devoted wife and mother all her life. She actively volunteered at Trinity Lutheran Church and other community ladies functions.
Survivors include her children, Elaine Jones, Rolla, Mo., Marian Meinders, Spencer, Dwain (Monika) Meinders, Gonzales, Calif., David Meinders, Spencer, Mark (Kris) Meinders, Spencer, Arlyn (Lisa) Meinders, Mason City, Iowa, and Joyce (Kevin) Pankratz, Eau Claire.\; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister Wilhelmina (Ernest) Jannsen, Granada, Minn.; two brothers, Willie (Caroline) Kruse, Lone Rock, Iowa, and Raymond (Arlene) Kruse, Bella Vista, Ark.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband.
Maurina/Community Funeral Home, Spencer, assisted the family with arrangements.
