Elliott, Lori L. (24 MAR 1950 – 29 APR 2019)

Lori L. Elliott, age 59, of Withee, WI, passed into 1 eternal rest on Monday, April 29, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System, in Eau Claire, WI. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp, WI. Rev. Baskaran Sandhiyagu will officiate and interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Withee. Visitation will be held at the church, on Friday, from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Lori Lou Steinmetz was born on March 24, 1960, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Ashland, WI, the daughter of John and Theresa (Berube) Steinmetz. She was born the sixth child of nine, a cute, little, reddish-blonde haired, blue-eyed girl, who was mom's prettiest baby. Lori grew up on a dairy farm in Saxon. WI. She attended grade school in Saxon, kindergarten through the sixth grade. Lori was a very good student, earning very good grades. She attended seventh through twelfth grade at J.E. Murphy High School in Hurley, WI, graduating in 1978. Lori was active on the track team and the choir in high school, and she worked the C.E.T.A. program during the summers. She was united in marriage to Larry Stigen, from Thorp, WI, on May 5, 1979, in Saxon, WI. During her marriage, she worked as a CNA at the Clark County Health Care Center, in Owen, WI.

Lori married Bob Elliott in 2001 and lived in Lake Zurich, IL. She managed a re-sale shop that benefited deaf children, and supervised employees who worked there under the Huber Law. Lori flourished at this job. Bob had a daughter, Willow, that Lori helped raise.

She returned to Thorp and ran her sister's quilt shop for several years. Lori then moved to Texas, where she resided the last four years with her little dog, Rucker, whom she loved. She returned to Withee, to be closer with her sisters the last two months.

Lori had many interest, but especially enjoyed fishing, going to re-sale shops, recreating things with her visions, quilting, and spending time with her dog, Rucker, whom she loved.

Lori will be dearly missed by her three children: Shilo (Theresa) Stigen of Murrieta, CA, Shaina (Alex) Smoker of Ann Arbor, MI, and Savannah Stigen of Portland, OR; eight grandchildren; her mother, Theresa Berube (Cy Simms) of Rockport, TX; her father, John Steinmetz (Laura Niemi) of Ironwood, MI; eight siblings: Linda (Jim) Redetzke-Loons of Barnum, WI, Debi Steinmetz of Withee, Sandy (Keith) Marshall of Thorp, John Steinmetz of Thorp, Terese (Jim) Baures of Thorp, Julie (John) Phelps-Simes of Gordon, Tom (Vicky) Steinmetz of Parshall, ND, and Tim (Joanne) Steinmetz of Phoenix, AZ; one step-daughter, Willow Elliott; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lori will be deeply missed for her laughter, her quick wit, and for her love of life, which was contagious to all who met her. May she now rest in peace, in our loving, Savior's arms.
