Embke, Terry (Graduate - 1975)
Terry Embke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Embke of Rt. 3, Neillsville, will be the
first graduate of Neillsville’s two-year-old Bible Baptist Christian High
School.
Alone in the class, Embke will be graduated at ceremonies scheduled for 2 p.m.
Sunday in the auditorium of the courthouse.
The commencement address will be given by Evangelist Stan Oudemolen of Holland,
Mi., according to the Rev. David Webster, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church
here and superintendent of the new school.
Award honors, student testimonials and special music will complete the
commencement ceremonies, according to the Rev. Mr. Webster.
The Bible Baptist Christian school was launched in the fall of 1974 in a break
of Mr. Webster and his followers with the public schools that started with
controversy over a textbook on family living. Since that time the group has
entered strong protest over a number of books available to pupils on the high
school library shelves. The school has 12 pupils from kindergarten to 12th grade
and is located at 208 East 9th Street.
Mr. Webster said last week that he expects an enrollment of 20 for the fall
term, and that he hoped to be able to greet the term in a new school building.
