Woelffer, Irma (Marriage - 3 July 1937)

Miss Irma Woelffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V. C. Woelffer of this city, was married July 3, at Milwaukee to Kenneth Maguire of Campus, Ill., the low mass service being performed by Father Kraemer at Gesu Church. The ceremony which took place before an altar of red roses and other flowers was witnessed by the parents of the bride and groom, other relatives and a number of friends.

Attending the young couple were Jane E. Woelffer, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, and Thomas and Eugene Maguire, brothers of the groom.

The bride wore a very attractive costume of navy blue net redingote over blue taffeta, with white linen collar and cuffs, large navy blue picture hate and navy and white linen slippers. Her flowers were an old fashioned corsage of pink roses, white sweet peas and blue delphinium. Miss Jane Woelffer was attired in a smart suit of navy blue and beige crepe with finger tip beige crepe coat, large straw hat and beige linen slippers, and corsage of talisman roses, yellow daisies and delphinium.

The bride’s mother wore navy blue lace and the groom’s mother wore flowered chiffon, and Mrs. Henriette Minkler, (with whom the bride has resided the past year) black and white crepe, all wore corsages of gardenias.

Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at 11 a.m., to 20 guests at the home of Mrs. Henrietta Minkler, the table being beautifully decorated with sweet peas.

The bride has been a life-long resident of Neillsville, attending the public schools here and graduating from high school in 1926. She also was graduated from the Teacher’s college at Eau Claire. For the past year she has been making her home in Milwaukee, being employed at the Marquette Drug Store. She is a young lady of many splendid qualities, genial disposition and rare wit.

The groom, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Maguire of Campus, Ill., is a civil engineer gradate of the University of Illinois, class of 1936 and is employed by the Illinois Highway Commission. He is very highly spoken of by all those who have met him.

Mr. and Mrs. Maguire are spending their honeymoon in the Northern part of Wisconsin and plan on returning home at Joliet, Ill., in August.

Woelffer, Neillsville, bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Covell, Neillsville, Mary G. Ketel, West Bend, Mr. Carl Gerold, Pt. Washington.
