Boardman, Ethel Emma (23 Feb. 1917 - 6 June 2006)

THORP -- Ethel Emma Boardman, 89, of Thorp, died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at Oakbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation in Thorp.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2006, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Thorp. Burial will follow in East Thorp Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

She was born Feb. 23, 1917, in the town of Little Black to George and Martha (Brechlin) Hoff. She married Lawrence "Louie" Boardman in the town of Green Grove in May 29, 1938. He preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 1993. Ethel taught at Pineland School, Thorp, and Sterling School, Stanley, and finally for the Thorp School District until her retirement in 1980.

She is survived by her children, Russell Boardman, Lincoln, Neb., Gerald (Lynn Evans) Boardman, Baton Rouge, La., Karen (James) Huhn, Watertown, Richard (Lucianne) Boardman, Chippewa Falls, Randolph (Jo) Boardman, New Berlin; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy McCorison, Eau Claire, and Myrtle Stoltenberg, Waupaca; and one brother, Harley (Marion) Hoff, Belmont, Calif.
