Laks, Florence (Marriage - 17 Aug. 1937)
Miss Florence Laks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Laks of Milwaukee, was married to Silas Foemmel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Foemmel of Chili, in the parsonage of Rev. Manley of Chili at 2:30 Saturday in a double ring ceremony. Seven guests were present. Bridesmaid was Helen Jamroz, a friend of the bride from Cudahy, and best man was Walter Laks of Milwaukee, brother of the bride.
Attired in a dress with ruffled train and high Queen Anne collar of white taffeta, the bride carried a bouquet of white roses, swansonia and fern. The bridesmaid wore ankle length white lace with short jacket, and carried assorted flowers. The bride is a graduate of Neillsville High and taught 3 years at Rock Creek and one year at Cozy Corner schools. The groom attended high school in Granton, and is a lifetime resident of the Chili community.
Following the ceremony, a supper was served at the Foemmel home for 21 guests. The couple will make their home with his parents on the farm near Chili.
