Brown, Joseph (1878? - 1937)
Joseph Brown, 58, a well-to-do and highly respected farmer of the Greenwood County, was found dead at his home by his brother. Mr. Brown owned a large dairy farm and also a smaller truck farm and has been in ill health for some time, which is thought to have affected on his mind. A gun was found near the body.
The funeral was held Saturday morning, with services at the M. E. Church in Greenwood by Rev. C. R. Gaylord, and burial took place in the cemetery there. Mr. Brown is survived by three brothers and one sister, Hubert of Red Falls, Minn., Norman of Ojibwa and Bert of Loretta, and Mrs. Ella Short of Neillsville, Wis.
