Mathwig, Loiree Elnora (Marriage – 4 Sept. 1937)
Loiree Elnora Mathwig of Loyal became the bride of Marvin Christman of Hartford in a double ring ceremony at the Walter Mathwig home Sept. 4 in an evening wedding at 7 o’clock. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mathwig of Loyal, and the groom is the son of Mrs. Loyetta Christman of Loyal. The home was decorated with a various flowers, and with large vases of flowers and streamers in white, blue and yellow.
The bride, a teacher, is a graduate of Loyal High and of Stevens Point Teacher’s college. The groom is employed as a mechanic by the Central Chevrolet Sales of Hartford. The bride was attired in a white satin jacket with corded puffed sleeves, tulle lace trim veil crowned with seed pearls and orange blossoms, and had a bridal bouquets of roses and assorted dainty flowers. She was attended by Esther Schultz of Spencer and by Lucille Schlinsog of Granton. Special music was rendered by Misses Isabelle and Rahda Buse of Spencer. The bride was given away by her father, and the best man was Stanley Mathwig of Loyal.
A wedding supper was held at home for 50 guests by the parents, which a large wedding cake in pink and white was cut. After a trip into the northern part of the state they will be at home in Hartford. Among those who attended were Selma and Arnold Gotter, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schlinsog and daughter of Granton.
