Squires, Albert C. (January 17, 1892 - September 5, 1973)

Albert C Squires, age 81, Merrillan, died September 5, 1973 at the Black River Memorial Hospital.

Services were held September 7, 1973, from the United Methodist Church, Merrillan, with Rev. Calvin Carey officiating. Burial was at the East Lawn Cemetery at Alma Center. The Jensen Funeral Home, Hixton, was in charge of the arrangements.

Albert C Squires was born in Hixton, January 17, 1892, to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Squires and had been employed as a cheese maker in many parts of the state until his retirement 20 years ago. He married Lillian Payne on September 13, 1915 at Rochester, MN.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, Gerald, Shirlee and Leland, all of Beloit; Francis of Longview, WA; Donovan of Black River Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Wanda) Schmidt, of Rochester, MN; Mrs. Richard (Geraldine) Matti of Humbird; Mrs. John (Genevieve) Shanks of Lake Delton; two brothers, Milton of Alma Center and Orrin of Black River Falls; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Fenney of Merrillan; 28 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
