Chapman, Ruth Parker (Marriage - 1937)
Miss Ruth Parker Chapman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Chapman, Portland, Ore. was united in marriage to Edward A. Frantz, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Frantz of this city, in an 8 o’clock ceremony in the South Salem Friends Church in early summer by Rev. Chas. Haworth. The church was specially decorated, and special music featured the occasion. The bride wore a white brocaded satin princess style wedding gown with veil of tulle. She was attended by Elva Sehon, and bridesmaids, Mrs. Ronald Hudkins, Margaret Hagg, Mrs. Gus Moore, and Rachel Pemberton.
Groomsman was Henry Frantz, a brother, and the ushers were Ronald Hudkins, James Frantz, Gus Moore and Albert Pietla. A reception was held at the J. Ray Pemberton home after the wedding. After the party, the couple left for California, where both attended the University of Southern California summer session. They will be at home in St. Helens later this summer, where he is athletic coach and instructor in physical education. Both are members of honorary and scholastic among the social set. The bride is a former teacher in Sherwood high School.
