Helena Gluch, daughter of Henry and Rosina Gluch, was born in Schlesing, Germany, in 1849, and came to America at the age of 18, moving to Neillsville, Wis. At 21 she married Gottleib Reidel, and together they settled on 80 acres of land in the town of Grant, which has been home until 3 years ago when she came to live with her daughter, Mrs. Herman Krause in the town of Grant. Mrs. Reidel died at 88, and her husband preceded her 9 years. Four children mourn her death: Amelia (Mrs. Herman Krause) of Grant, Herman at home farm, Emil, on a farm in Lynn, and Augusta of Owen, Wis. There are 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous relatives who attended the funeral. Pallbearers were Paul Wagner, Fred Ratsch, Clarence Reidel, Ernest Lustig, Arnold Grottke, Clarence Schnabel, and the flower girls, Lorraine Wagner, Ione, Arlene, Adelina, Dolores, and Florence Reidel.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Buth at the church at 2 p.m., Saturday, and interment was in the cemetery.
