Bartz, Fred William (28 Oct. 1853 - 11 Dec. 1937)

Fred William Bartz was born Oct. 28, 1853, in Germany and passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. August Bealer, after a long illness.

Deceased emigrated to America in 1871, settling near Brillion, Wis. He was there married to Bertha Bartz in 1884, who passed away in 1896. He was married a second time, to Miss Lena Braun, who survives him. They came to the town of Rock in 1903, where they operated a farm until last spring.

Besides the widow, he leaves eight children; Gustave Bartz, Nasonville; Ernest Bartz, Pendleton, Ore.; Mrs. Ella Yaeger and Ewald and Robert Bartz, Marshfield; Mrs. Clara Bealer, Chili; Mrs. Alma Gaster, Wyoming; and Walter Bartz, Dancy. There are 32 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Fred Kuehl, and two brothers, Augusta Bartz, Gillette; and Herman Bartz, Tomahawk.

Funeral services were held at Nasonville Lutheran Church at 2 o’clock last Tuesday afternoon, Rev. A. G. Diemer officiating.
