Pitts, Joseph Arthur (17 Feb. 1874 - 20 Dec. 1937)

Joseph Arthur Pitts, son of Joseph and Sarah Ralston Pitts, was born at Hammond, Wis., on Feb. 17, 1874, and died from injuries received when he was struck by an automobile on Monday morning, Dec. 20, 1937, thus bringing his age of 63 years, 10 months and 3 days.

On April 28, 1897, he was married to Emma Lustig. He lived in and around Neillsville since he was 16 years of age.

The following children survive: Mrs. George (Ida) Buzek, Hortonville; Mrs. Fred (Clara) Kalkofen, Antigo; Ernest Pitts, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Ed (Maude) Robinson, Milltown; Mrs. Robert (Laura) Legati, Neillsville; one brother, Milton V. Pitts, Buffalo, N. Y.; and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

Funeral services were held at the Schiller funeral home at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Wilson Bixler officiating. Burial took place in the Neillsville Cemetery.
