Turners hit the 60 mark
George Turner and Margaret Geisler were married during the early days of the flapper era. The Roarin’ 20’s had just begun.
This Thursday, December 16, 1982, the Turners will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary at their Neillsville home at 1908 Pitcher Street.
George age 81 and Margaret age 79 lived most of their lives in Neillsville with the exception of a ten-year period when they lived in Illinois. He was born on April 3, 1901, to Abbie and Hattie Turner and she was born on March 31, 1903, to Julius and Margaret Geisler.
The couple was married in Neillsville with Kate and William Buddinger as attendants.
George was a carpenter for over 50 years. Margaret worked for Drs. Milton and Sarah Rosekrans for 20 years and was also employed by Neillsville Milk Products for ten years.
They have one son, Donald, of Neillsville; and one granddaughter, Barbara.
