Curtin, Chase (FFA Awards – 15 May 2019)
Chase Curtin
Neillsville News
By Nancy Curtin
Last Wednesday was the annual FFA awards night. Chase was excited to dress up
and wear his FFA jacket. We both anticipated him receiving top seller awards for
the fruit sales. Well, we forgot about the fall pizza sales for which he
received a top seller award.
He was also selected to hand out the Star Greenhand award to this year’s
recipient. It was his first public speaking opportunity and he did all right.
The surprise of the evening came when Chase received the Star Award at the high
school level. At the endo of the ceremony, he asked for a box to take all his
goodies home.
I’m so proud of him. FFA has been a blessing. It offers volunteering and
community service opportunities, lessons on teamwork and leadership-building and
so much more. It’s a great way for a student to get involved that doesn’t have
an athletic bone in his body.
