Larson, Hannah (10 FEB 1864 - 24 JAN 1915)
Mrs. John Larson died at her home in the town of Hull (Marathon Co., Wis.), Sunday forenoon, Jan. 24th, 1915, of cancer of the lungs, after an illness of three years, aged 50 years, 11 months and 14 days.
Hannah Carlson was born in Sweden, Feb. 10th, 1864; she came to America in the year 1889, first locating at Ashland, later at Glidden. In the year 1892, when the coal kilns were built here, she came to Colby with Peter Helsten’s family. The same year she was married to John Larson.
When the coal kilns were shut down, she moved with her family onto the farm where she died. She has been in poor health for the past three years and underwent several operations at the hospital. The disease that caused her death has been of only a few months duration. She was always held in high esteem by her neighbors and friends, all of whom extend their deepest sympathy to the bereaved husband and children.
She is survived by her husband, four children: Hildur, Elmer, Walter and Ivan, all living at home; also by her aged mother, living here, one sister and one brother living at Ogema, and one brother living in Sweden.
The funeral was held from the M.E. Church, Rev. R.R. Braddick officiating, Wednesday forenoon. Interment in Colby Cemetery.
