Viegut, Clarence (26 DEC 1908 – 9 MAR 1971)
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today at St. Peter's Lutheran Church,
Dorchester, for Clarence Viegut, 62, who died Tuesday in St. Joseph's Hospital,
Marshfield, after a lingering illness. Rev. F.H. Sprengler conducted the
service, with burial in Abbotsford Cemetery.
Mr. Viegut was born December 26, 1908 in the town of Wien (Marathon Co., Wis.).
Marriage to Florence Wyman took place December 27, 1930 in the Town of Wien,
where the couple farmed until 1942, when they moved to the town of Holton
(Marathon Co.) and farmed until retirement in 1969. He was employed by H.C.
Christensen for many years and served as Holton's assessor for five and
supervisor for four years.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Clarence Jr., Tomahawk, James, Abbotsford,
and Jeffrey at home; eight daughters, Mrs. Harold (Charmaine) Amacher,
Abbotsford, Mrs. Donald (Yvonne) Koerner, Dorchester, Mrs. Jemell (Jelane)
Carstensen, Medford, Mrs. Verlyne (Judy) Wittlinger, Abbotsford, Mrs. Duane
(Gail) Underwood, Dorchester, Debbie, Cindy and Carol at home; 18 grandchildren;
two brothers and four sisters.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Arrangements were completed at the Maurina Funeral Home.
