Ellen 'Jean' Hanson

NEILLSVILLE -- Ellen "Jean" Hanson, 79, of Neillsville, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at the Memorial Home in Neillsville, Wis.

Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Buchanan Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Burial was in Dells Dam Cemetery.

Visitation was from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was born Dec. 16, 1926, in Blanchester, Ohio, to Francis and Letha (Albers) McCartney. She married Earl Hanson on April 16, 1946, at the home of her parents in Illinois. He predeceased her on Jan. 31, 2000. She worked at Caterpillar in East Peoria before marriage. After marriage they farmed in the town of Pine Valley, Neillsville, Wis.

Survivors include her son, Larry (Robin) Hanson, Neillsville; daughters, Carol (Steven) Sibley, Dilworth, Minn., Shirley (Rick) Gohde, Alma Center, and Jane (Dennis) Marksteiner, Neillsville; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Lois Young, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
