Chester R. Rogalski
THORP -- Chester Raymond Rogalski, 82, of Thorp died Sunday, May 7, 2006, at
Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, Wis.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic
Church in Thorp. Internment of cremains will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Rosary service, Tuesday
at Thorp Funeral Home.
He was born March 27, 1924, in the town of Reseburg, rural Thorp, to John and
Evelyn (Ignowski) Rogalski. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 21, 1945, and
served during World War II. He was discharged on Dec. 8, 1946. He married Regina
Lobacz on Aug. 28,1948, at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. In addition to
farming, Chet worked for Blue Moon Cheese for more than 20 years. He retired in
1986.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Rogalski, Thorp; son, Ronald (Jill) Rogalski,
Thorp; daughter, Marie (Ron) Lee, Plymouth; seven grandchildren and one
great-grandchild. He is further survived by two sisters, Betty Ciokiewicz,
Thorp, and Alice Balicki, Cicero, Ill.; and five brothers, Richard (Gerri)
Rogalski, Tucson, Ariz., Donald (Janet) Rogalski, Thorp, John (Jo) Rogalski,
Crystal Falls, Mich., Robert (Joyce) Rogalski, Stevens Point, and Fred (Florencce)
Rogalski, Kenosha.

ROGALSKI, Chester R., 82, of Thorp died Sunday at Clark County Health Care
Center in Owen, Wis.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig?s Catholic
Church, with burial at a later date in Old St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery, both
in Thorp.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thorp Funeral Home, where there
will be a 7 p.m. rosary service.

Chester R. Rogalski, age 82, of Thorp passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2006, at
Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, Wis. Funeral services were held on
Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard--St. Hedwig Catholic Church
in Thorp with Fr. Keith Apfelbeck officiating. Chet’s grandchildren served as
pallbearers. Interment of Cremains will be held at a later date. Visitation was
held at the Thorp Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00
p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary Service.
Chester Raymond Rogalski was born on March 27, 1924 in the Town of Reseburg,
rural Thorp, to John and Evelyn (Ignowski) Rogalski and received his education
at the Pozen Country School. After completing his education, he enlisted in the
United States Army on March 21, 1945 and served during World War II until being
discharged on December 8, 1946. He was united in marriage to Regina Lobacz on
August 28, 1948 at St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. After their marriage,
Chet and Regina moved to Chicago where they worked for ten years. In 1957, they
decided to move back to Thorp where they purchased a dairy farm and raised their
children. In addition to farming, Chet also worked for Blue Moon Cheese for over
20 years. He retired in 1986 but continued to live on the farm until moving to
the City of Thorp in May 2005.
Chet’s favorite hobbies were woodworking, hunting, fishing, and repairing odds
and ends.
He was a lifetime member of St. Bernard—St. Hedwig Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Regina of Thorp, one son: Ronald (Jill) Rogalski of
Thorp; one daughter; Marie (Ron) Lee of Plymouth, WI; seven grandchildren; Sara
Lee-Kurabelis, Jenelle Lee-abbas, Kevin Rogalski, Eric Rogalski, Patrick
Rogalski, Nicole Anderson, Michael Anderson and one great-grandchild: Tori
Rogalski. He is further survived by two sisters: Betty Ciokiewicz of Thorp and
Alice Balicki of Cicero, IL; five brothers: Richard (Gerri) Rogalski of Tucson,
AZ, Donald (Janet) Rogalski of Thorp, John (Jo) Rogalski of Crystal Falls, MI,
Robert (Joyce) Rogalski of Stevens Point, Fred (Florence) Rogalski of Kenosha
and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Sandra Anderson in
2001; one brother: Stanley Rogalski, and two sisters: Marcella Ciokiewicz and
Eleanor McCoy.
Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with
arrangements.
