Miles, Richard T. (19 JUL 1906 - 2 JUL 1934)

Richard Townly Miles was born in Abbottsford, Wis., on July 19, 1906 and died at Statesan, Wis., July 2, 1934 at the age of 27 years, 11 months and 17 days.

He was united in marriage to Irene Leatherdale of Loyal in September, 1931.

He was well known in the community of Loyal as he had spent practically all his life here.

He is survived by his wife Irene and daughter Delores, his father, Wm. Miles of Reading, Michigan; two brothers, Louis of Withee and Henry of Hawkins; five sisters, Mrs. Oscar Lemke of Hawkins, Mrs. Chas. McGarvey of Bismarck, N. D., Mrs. Harold Thomas, Homer, Mich., and Frances Miles of Jackson, Michigan. His mother and two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning ay 9 o’clock at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Rev. A. J. Aurit officiating. Burial was in the family lot in the Loyal Cemetery, beside his mother.

Pall bearers were Mr. Russel Gross, Mr. Howard Goodell, Mr. Leo Theisen, Herbert Braun, Mr. Charles Thums and Mr. Frank Oestreich.

The flowers were in charge of Misses Lila Oestreich, Marcella and Beatrice Thums.

Out of town guests and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Chas. McGarvey of Bismarck, N. Dakota, Miss Helen Miles of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Lemke and Henry Miles of Hawkins, Wis., Mr. Louis Miles of Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Theron Looker of Withee; Mrs. Bruce Erwin of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brotherton, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Brotherton and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Brotherton and family of Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Drake and family of Riplinger and Mrs. Roy Lane and Mrs. Claude Hanchetle of Hawkins.
